Vibrant Vista (back)
Despite having a North-Westerly aspect this long plot had potential for a seating area in the sun and was large enough to accommodate a second area in shade. The tables and seating were constructed using many reclaimed timbers and the pergola utilized oversized softwood timbers to provide a sturdy architectural structure. Planting combined formal clipped shrubs and hedging and number of fruit trees, herbs, ferns and climbing plants. Paving and paths formed of tumbled sandstone slabs. An enormous ancient Oak tree can be seen in the background marks the boundary of the adjoined ‘secret garden’.
